Tour Itinerary

Your Journey, Day by Day

Discover a thoughtfully curated tour itinerary featuring iconic attractions, enriching sightseeing, remarkable destinations, and seamless travel experiences.

Arrive in Chennai, where your private representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After time to settle in, begin with an introduction to the city’s contrasting character, from the grand colonial buildings of Fort St. George to the lively streets around George Town. Depending on your arrival schedule, you may also visit Marina Beach or the serene San Thome Basilica. Enjoy your first South Indian dinner and rest before the journey continues along the coast.

Explore Chennai’s artistic and spiritual highlights, including the richly carved Kapaleeshwarar Temple and the Government Museum area, known for its remarkable Chola bronzes. Later, travel south towards Pondicherry, with time to appreciate the changing landscape along the Coromandel Coast. On arrival, take an evening walk through the atmospheric French Quarter, where pastel facades, quiet lanes and bougainvillea create a distinctive sense of place. The seafront promenade offers a relaxed setting for your first evening in this former French settlement.

Spend a full day discovering Pondicherry at an easy pace. Visit the Sri Aurobindo Ashram area, stroll along the old French Quarter and admire the elegant Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Bharati Park district reveals the town’s blend of European planning and Tamil traditions, while local cafés provide an opportunity to sample South Indian and Franco-Tamil influences. Later, enjoy time beside the Bay of Bengal or browse boutiques featuring handmade textiles, ceramics, natural products and regional crafts.

Leave Pondicherry and travel inland through the fertile landscapes of the Cauvery delta to Thanjavur, the historic heart of the Chola kingdom. After arriving, visit the magnificent Brihadisvara Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage monument celebrated for its soaring vimana, precise stonework and monumental scale. Continue with the Thanjavur Maratha Palace complex and its collections of sculpture, manuscripts and traditional art. The day offers a vivid introduction to Tamil Nadu’s temple architecture, classical culture and royal history.

Travel to Madurai, one of South India’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. En route, the rural scenery reveals paddy fields, village shrines and the rhythms of Tamil Nadu beyond its major towns. In Madurai, visit the extraordinary Meenakshi Amman Temple, whose towering gopurams and richly decorated halls form the city’s spiritual centre. Explore the nearby Puthu Mandapam and historic streets, then experience the lively atmosphere of the evening around the temple complex, when devotional life continues well into the night.

Depart Madurai for the Western Ghats and the cool, green highlands of Munnar. The road climbs through changing scenery, from dry Tamil plains to forested mountain slopes, waterfalls and winding valleys. On arrival, settle into the peaceful hill environment and enjoy views across tea-covered ridges. If time permits, visit a tea museum or take a gentle walk near the plantations. Munnar’s fresh air and unhurried atmosphere provide a striking contrast to the temple cities visited earlier.

Enjoy a final morning in Munnar before travelling through the Western Ghats to Thekkady, gateway to the Periyar region. Along the route, the landscape changes from open tea estates to dense forest and spice-growing valleys. After arrival, learn about Kerala’s cardamom, pepper, cinnamon and coffee traditions at a local spice garden or plantation. You may also choose a guided nature walk, an interpretive forest experience or a cultural performance, subject to local schedules and availability.

Leave the hills behind and descend towards Alleppey, set among Kerala’s tranquil network of canals, lagoons and rice fields. The journey reveals a slower rural landscape of coconut palms, small ferry crossings and villages bordering the water. On arrival, settle into your carefully selected accommodation or board a traditional backwater vessel, depending on your arrangements. Spend the afternoon observing daily life from the waterways, with fishermen, churches, paddy fields and riverside homes creating a memorable Kerala panorama.

After a relaxed morning in Alleppey, continue to Kochi, Kerala’s historic port city. Explore Fort Kochi’s atmospheric lanes, the landmark Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis Church and the former spice-trading quarter of Mattancherry. Visit the Dutch Palace area and the colourful Jew Town district, where layers of Portuguese, Dutch, Jewish, Arab and British influence remain visible. End the day with a sunset walk along the waterfront or an optional classical performance, subject to the local programme.

Enjoy a final breakfast in Kochi and use any available time for last-minute shopping, a relaxed café visit or a final walk through Fort Kochi. Your private vehicle will then transfer you to Cochin International Airport or another onward point in the Kochi area. Depart with memories of Tamil Nadu’s temple cities, Pondicherry’s coastal elegance, the Western Ghats’ green highlands and Kerala’s peaceful waterways. Your chauffeur and travel team will assist with the departure arrangements according to your onward plans.
